Asia Working Group

About Us

Sharing a need to study the complexities and diversities of Asian peace and conflicts, faculty members and students interested in South Asia have teamed up to form the Asia Working Group. Our purpose is to contribute to the understanding of peace and conflict dynamics in Asia.

Map of Asia

The growth of violence and conflict in Asia has drawn international attention. As a result of the increasing conflict, scholars, peace practitioners, and policy makers are disseminating knowledge to stakeholders for effective resolution. As Asia Working Group participants, we facilitate research on issues and insights in Asia. Cross-disciplinary research in conflict resolution, economics, sociology, anthropology, history, international relations, political science, and international development will be encouraged. Currently, conflict resolution research in Asia, specifically in South Asia, East Asia, and Southeast Asia, is limited. Through exploration of this literature, we hope to deepen and expand Conflict Resolution research in Asia. Our network will provide guidance and a voice to this severely neglected region of the world.
