| Faculty Development Fund Faculty
development support comprises the following: Funding for research
projects, endowed chairs, research assistance, community outreach
support, travel and other expenses to conduct research, conference
and symposium registration fees, and clinical research equipment,
to name a few. A faculty endowment is urgently needed by establishing
endowed chairs and distinguished visiting professorships to
attract and retain top faculty and students nationally and
internationally and enhance the academic standing of NSU Graduate
School of Humanities & Social Sciences.
Faculty support: Students cite
the quality of the faculty as a primary reason for choosing
SHSS over other schools. A strong endowment will enable
the school to offer competitive salaries, maintain the faculty
at an optimum size, and support teaching and research–all
of which are essential to attracting and sustaining an energized
and productive faculty. Endowment funds enrich the academic
experience for students by providing support for endowed
professorships, visiting artists and lecturers, faculty
development grants, and awards for innovative teaching and
learning.
