Doris Benefield Harold Bursary Fund
When Doris Benefield Harold, a respected student of the
Department of Family Therapy Ph.D. program, died of cancer
in 1995, the department set up this fund. Students, faculty,
and friends contributed as a way of honoring Doris’s
memory.
James O. Elmore Scholarship Fund
Jim Elmore, a federal mediator and friend of the Department
of Conflict Analysis &Resolution (DCAR), died in 1998.
The established this fund department as a lasting tribute
to Jim.
Both of the above funds are used for student monetary
assistance, namely conference presentations and publications.
Florence Ross Scholarship of Global Peace
Fund
This fund was set up by Dr. Florence Ross in 1999 for
students of the DCAR in conjunction with the SHSS. Dr.
Ross graduated from the doctoral program in 2001, and
upon graduation solicited contributions from friends to
augment this fund. The fund has been used to help bring
to the SHSS distinguished speakers and trainers in the
conflict resolution field, (such as Professor Galtung)
and to provide aid to needy students to attend such events.
